Hello students and parents,
First and foremost, thank you for visiting my website. If you are a freshman or a new student, welcome to Holly Springs High School. If you are not, welcome back! I am Mr. Boyette (or Coach Boyette) and I will be your student's math teacher for this semester. I am a graduate of the finest university in the world, North Carolina State University. I may be a little biased but of course it has to be true! I graduated from Middle Creek High School right up the road, but of course my allegiance is to Holly Springs purple and gold now.
Since 2012, I have been an assistant coach with the baseball team here at Holly Springs and will continue in that role for this year. I believe extra-curricular activities are vital for a student's success inside and out of the classroom. If you have the chance, join a club, tryout for a sport or simply learn an instrument. There are many different areas to test your ability and you may surprise yourself at what you excel at. How will know if you like it or not if you never try it?
I have stated several times what I believe the greatest contributor to student success is: hard work. I believe the harder you work, the more successful you are. That applies to all aspects of life: from sports to math to drama. If you want to be successful, it's simple: WORK! I am a firm believer and by the time you or your student leaves my class, I hope whenever they hear "hard work," they think back to Mr. Boyette and this math class. I can assure you that the harder you work in my class, I will work twice as hard to ensure you understand the material and are successful in this course.
As "life happens," I will be adding to this page, but for now that is about me. Please remember to review the syllabus and come ready to work during the first week of school. If you are viewing this before school, enjoy your last few days of break! The fun begins soon. I appreciate you allowing me to lead you or your student on this journey and I know each and every one can and will be successful in this class (just as long as you remember to work hard).
GOOD LUCK!
Mr. Boyette
